I'll be the first person to call myself a hairy legged feminist but I think abortion is not a topic which only effects a few girls with loose morals. Unplanned pregnancy can happen to anyone and the laws need to reflect this. I'm asking YOU contact your M.P in your electorate and tell them your views on this issue.
Recent media reports indicate there is a large gap between reality and the law. I personally find it atrocious, there are laws which dictate what is permissible for a woman to do to her body, however that is based on my opinion. I am also aware the laws which govern abortion can be manipulated so women can access a safe abortion, however the law should stand to no be manipulated and protect all people involved. I would like the law to reflect a pro choice stance, where women are able to access abortion, regardless of their reason, providing they are aware of what they are doing ( i. e. appropriate non religious counseling). Unplanned pregnancy can affect anyone, and therefore the law should support everybody, not just people who have access lawyers and doctors which can take sides. This is an issue which cannot be about sides of bias, it should be about an informed choice.
